Another stupid post

They're pretty common, aren't they? Fortunately mine are not seen, least I don't think so. I'll look around for a hit counter and find out. But many are seen. I've seen them. People rambling on at great length about you just can't figure out what!

I can relate to them. I sympathise with them. But still find them boring and frustrating, even annoying, to read. Object lesson to myself. Get on the ball. Get with it. Find something to say or shut up.

Well I'd like to say 'Fear is the key'.

I've been reading John Pilger. "Hidden Agendas". It's frightening. It's shocking and frightening. Sobering. Depressing. Totally believable. You know what I'm talking about? Maybe not. I'll tell you: According to John Pilger and his experiences and researches WE ARE THE BAD GUYS. We are.

Oh, sure, there are some other pretty bad dudes around from time to time. There's the odd guy here and there that's done some pretty rude things, killed a few thousand people and enslaved people and ripped off bulk money etc. But they are all amateurs compared to what we are in the habit of doing.

Who's 'we' ? Mainly the British and the Americans. Including the Australians in particular in some instances. Mainly. Mainly because of history: the British had such a strong influence and the Americans do have such a strong influence.

But it is everyone. It is the western way. It is our 'capitalistic' and 'democratic' way that is at fault. Not because of the theories behind it all - capitalist theory or democratic theory or somesuch. No. Just because of the lying duplicity of our leaders - political, military and business - and our own apathy.

Now who gives a damn? Talking apathy, why not? Who cares? What's it matter? The root problem is that we rob and lie and cheat and steal and massacre, kill, plunder, rape our way around the world - all in the interests of our own comfort. Our own riches and comfort. So: if you're callous enough or something - if you believe in living for the moment, don't believe in any god or any inbuilt moral values then what the hell? It's just lucky we're on the top of the heap, right? Let's enjoy it.

Ha ha. Not so fast. What we do to everyone else in the world we do to ourselves, too. There's the rub. We are like a mad dog killing and eating everything around and even taking chunks out of itself.

So who the hell does that profit? Well, yes, very few. Ultimately only those at the very top. Eventually they'll be like kings and queens living in luxury in the centre of a wasteland. Supporting in that luxury as best possible by a few wretches still alive to service them. A far fetched situation. Yes. That's the point. It is going inexorably that way but it is going to take a long time before it gets that bad. So those at the top aren't worried.

But the crunch is coming daily to more and more at the bottom.

How far from the bottom are you?
